BARRY OLD-Managing Director
Barry Old has been Managing Director of Just the Berries since 2003. He is also a director of New Zealand Pharmaceuticals Ltd (NZP). Barry joined NZP in 1983 after completing DPhil in Organic Chemistry gained at Waikato University. His many years in both technical and marketing roles at NZP have provided him with knowledge of both the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets. His commercial background fits well with the needs of Just the Berries.
EDDIE SHIOJIMA-General Manager & Director of Product Development
Dr. Eddie Shiojima has a PhD in human nurtriiton, for the past five years he has been focusing his technical and scientific research skills on blackcurrants. Today he is acknowledged as the world expert on the fruit in terms of what it can do for the human body.
MICHAEL CALLAGHER-Commercial Manager
Mike has a BSc in Biochemistry and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (International Business).
SIMON TAVENDALE-Sales Manager
Simon has been with Just the Berries since July 2004. Prior to this he was Logistics Manager for Herbalife of Japan based in Tokyo. Simon has lived in Japan for eight years, most of this time was spent working in the health food and supplements industry, where he gained an in depth knowledge of the Japanese health supplements and functional food market.
BRADLEY STEVENS-Production Manager
Brad gained 10 years experience in Australia in sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing in an FDA and ISO9001 accredited plant. Brad also worked in China commissioning a plant and training pharmaceutical operators. He brings excellent experience to production management especially in the manufacture of GMP APIs.
STEPHEN VAN EYK-Chief Scientific Officer
Stephen is employed by New Zealand Pharmaceuticals and has worked full time as Product & Research Development manager of Just the Berries since 2003. Prior to joining NZP in 1993, Stephen worked in pharmaceuticals and fine chemistry in Australia and Germany. He now leads technical development and new products projects. Stephen holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a business diploma.
